Robots for household chores |

Nowadays the number of industrial robots has increased greatly all over the world. Ad this fact coincides with the increasing use of domestic robots able to help about the house, as well as the garden. According to the report issued by the UN Economic Commission of Europe and the International Federation of Robotics, 607,000 smart domestic machines were used at the end of 2003, with two-thirds of them bought at that time. 
The majority of them were lawnmowers, while 37,000 of vacuum cleaning robots had been purchased. Taking the tendency of increasing popularity and demand for automatic helpers, 2007 will probably estimate 4.1 million domestic machines to be used in household activities. As it is going now, the lawnmowers are likely to be the most popular among all domestic robots. At the same time the new window-washers and pool-cleaners will also get in service.
The leading country using the greatest number of industrial robots is still Japan, while the European countries took were placed second, statistics shows.
According to the study, robots will soon not only fulfil domestic duties like cleaning, mowing and security services and other household chores, but also will assist elderly people and those suffering from disability, as well as combat fire and neutralize bombs.
